Dr. Lara McKnight hails from both Elko in eastern Nevada, and Oregon where she spent many years.  She attended Oregon colleges Willamette University for her B.S. degree, and Pacific University College of Optometry for her doctorate.  Dr. McKnight completed an optometric ocular disease residency at the Cincinnati Eye Institute in 2003. During her residency, Dr. McKnight received specialized training in ocular surface disease, surgical pre and post operative care, diabetic and retinal disease diagnosis and management, and glaucoma management.  She has been practicing in Reno and Carson City since 2003.  Dr. McKnight took a break from practice during 2009-2011 to teach ocular anatomy and anterior segment ocular disease at an optometry college in Texas. 

Dr. McKnight is a fifth generation Nevadan.  She enjoys travel in her free time.

Dr. Lori Steyn is a former Douglas High School Tiger, and University of  Nevada - Reno alumna.   Her graduate education was completed at the  Southern California College of Optometry, earning a Doctor of Optometry  degree in 1993.  Dr. Steyn is married to a retired Navy Commander and is the proud parent of 2 children.   As a Navy wife,  Dr. Steyn traveled all over the world and practiced Optometry in many  different locations in the U.S.  Upon retirement from the Navy, Dr. Steyn and her family moved back home to the beautiful Carson Valley area after almost 30 years. 

 Dr. Sharon  Long is a native of Reno. She attended UNR, graduated with a degree in neuroscience, and received her doctorate at Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon.  Dr. Long’s professional interests include  primary care optometry and surgery co-management. She also has a special  interest in providing eye care to those in need in other countries. She has completed a trip to Cambodia, and plans to continue with volunteer clinic trips throughout her career.  Outside of the office, you can find her on  the slopes at Mt. Rose, hiking around Tahoe, or learning new songs on  the uke.  

Alee was born in California and raised in Nevada.  She received her Associates Degree from Career College of Northern Nevada, and is a Certified Medical Assistant.  Alee is a newlywed and a new dog mom, roles that she loves and keep her busy.
